CREW 2000 Job Opportunities

Crew 2000 are currently seeking applications for a Digital Youth Worker and a Crew Counselling Team Coordinator. The Digital Youth worker will support the development of the new online service offering low-threshold drug and sexual health information, advice and support, working collaboratively with young people. The closing date for applications is the 27th July. The Counselling Coordinator will lead the monitoring, evaluation and on-going development of the counselling team who support people to address stimulant drug taking. New guidance for easier payment of public contributors to research

The National Institute for Health and Care Research have launched new guidance to help organisation, researchers and involvement staff pay members of the public helping shape health and social care research. The guide aims to support organisations to easily, and fairly, pay contributors. Access the guidance here.


European Federation of Therapeutic Communities Conference 2022

The European Federation of Therapeutic Communities is hosting its Conference, ‘Complexity, Sustainability and Inclusion’ on the 20th-22nd September 2022 in Glasgow. Speakers at the event will include Dr George De Leon, internationally recognised expert in the treatment of substance use disorder and acknowledged as leading in research in Therapeutic Communities. INEBRIA Conference 2022

The INEBRIA Conference, ‘Early Idenfitification and Brief Interventions: Innovation, sharing experience and facing challenges together for impact’  will be taking place in Edinburgh on the 21st-23rd September. European Society for Social Drug Research Annual Conference

The ESSD will be holding their annual conference in Vienna, Austria 6th-8th October 2022. More information on the conference programme will be released via the ESSD website. The conference fee is €100, with students qualifying for a reduced rate of €50.


Addiction and Substance Use in a Range of Contexts

A short course offered by Robert Gordon University will offer individuals to broaden their understanding of substance use. The course encourages application of understanding of practice in order to improve experiences of substance use issues. The closing date to apply is 7th September 2022. National Mission on Drugs: National Collaborative

The Scottish Government’s National Collaborative will develop a human rights-based approach through a dynamic process involving people with lived experience of problem substance use, and individuals responsible for delivering support services. The Scottish Government have issued an open Call for Nominations to the Change Team and Reference groups, which includes more information on the roles within the Collaborative and how to get involved. The deadline for nominations to the Change Team is 31st August 2022, with nominations to the Reference Groups welcomed on an ongoing basis.
