DRNS is hosting an online event exploring greenspace programmes and problem substance use. This seminar will be run by Wendy Masterton, a PhD student from the University of Stirling, who is undertaking a realist evaluation of greenspace programmes supporting people with problem substance use.
In the seminar, Wendy will discuss how greenspace programmes are increasing in popularity, but there is still little understanding of the mechanisms by which these programmes are successful, particularly for people who use drugs. Wendy will discuss her ongoing research, recently published framework, as well as some of the challenges of implementing greenspace programmes.
There will be a short pause for Q&A, following which, three presentations will be given providing the case for greenspace programmes for people with problem substance use, both in terms of meeting people where they are at on their recovery journey, and as a prevention strategy.
The event is taking place on Zoom on Tuesday 22nd June, 10am-12pm, with joining details provided prior to the event. Register now to confirm your place!
